The story behind the war...
At one time, the land was peaceful, horses did not hate each other, although some had evil tendencies, they all respected the Great King. He had lived for hundreds of years, and every horse respected him greatly. One day a young Lipizzaner stallion ran into the land, escaping the world that he had known before, Coventre was his name...
The wise old king saw Coventre, and spoke out to him. He talked to Coventre, and Coventre decided to stay with him. He sensed greatness around the wise stallion, and wished for that to rub off against him. All the horses had powers in the land, but they had been set with two as the limit by the king long ago. He was all powerful, having every power there was, and he knew that not every horse could handle having such power.
After years of being with the wise old king, the King decided that Coventre was the right stallion to pass his gift on too. he had gotten sick of living, for he never died, and wished to die finally, but legend said that there had to be one king in this land at all times. He told this to Coventre, and in a moment, he gave all his own powers to Coventre. As the wise old king lay, dying, transporting his powers to Coventre has sucked the life out of him, he told Coventre that he was the new king.
Mourning the loss of his great teacher, Coventre walked for miles, just thinking of his new position. He met a mare that day, he fell in love with this mare, and took her to be his queen. In time she bore him two sons, twins. One, was pure white like his father. The other, pure black like his Frisian mother.
Coventre loved his two colts, but it soon became seen that they had very different personalities. while the light colt was king and nice, the black colt was mean, causing chaos wherever he went. He grew to hate his twin brother, because he knew that the light colt was the better of them, and he hated him for it.
The two colts grew up, and they each started a herd of their own. The dark colt's herd was dark, just like him, mean. The light colt loved his herd, and they were all peaceful. The black colt still hated his brother, and vowed to kill him. When he thought he was strong enough, he went and challenged his brother...to the death.
The White colt fought his brother, and won, but could not deliver the killing blow, it was his brother after all. He retreated, hoping his brother would come to his senses, but alas, he did not, and his hatred continued, even growing larger and larger, it was an ugly thing. He rallied his herd, all of which were evil, although some mares were good that he had forced to come with him. The two sides rage war now constantly, each time, horses die, but nothing ever happens peacefully. Coventre can't take sides because he loves both of his sons, and could not go against either of them. Now, the original colts are dead, but their heirs go on, continuing the war that their ancestors started.
The war continues...Who will triumph?
